Acai Blueberry Super Smoothie

Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed on it. They will be yours for food." Genesis 1:29

I have been making this amazing new smoothie for breakfast this week. The BEST news is that it is SO good for you! Loaded with lots of super fruits (high in antioxidants), protein and not too many calories! The boys and I have been loving it...hope you enjoy it too! Oh, almost forgot to tell you the best part: this smoothie will make you beautiful (well, even more beautiful!) because blueberries are supposed to be super great for your skin!

- 1 CUP NON-FAT PLAIN GREEK YOGURT

- 1 PACK OR 3.5 OZ OF ACAI BERRY PUREE (I used Sambazon brand which is found in the frozen fruit section at HEB...come in 4 smoothie packs in one bag. Hope to find a more economical brand this weekend at Sprouts or Whole Foods.)

- 1 BANANA

- 1 CUP BLUEBERRIES (I USED FROZEN)

- 1 CUP OF ALMOND MILK

(If you have any protein powder, add a scoop and it will keep you full even longer!)

MIX IN BLENDER AND YOU ARE GOOD TO GO! THIS MAKES ABOUT TWO 8 OZ. SMOOTHIES.

P.S. Acai and mango go really well together too! I made one smoothie with just mango, banana and acai and it was very yummy too!

Think Spring, Think Pretty Pastels

After a long walk on a day that felt like spring, I am definitely feeling like putting the coats and boots away and wearing a flowy skirt and sandals! I know, I know...it's only mid January! We have a ways to go, but before you know it, the stores will be filled with warmer weather clothes and you're going to start craving longer and sunnier days!

If you are like me, you're just dying to know what's going to be hot for the upcoming spring and summer season. I did some digging on the internet and here is what I found out!

If you have always been a fan of pink, this is your year! Lots of pink and pastels are predicted to be the rage. I call these "pop" colors. Most of these colors can add instant punch to your outfit. I love that you can find all of these colors in nature: ocean blue or Caribbean turquoise, sunset hues in lavender and pinks, and colors straight from your garden: pale green herbs, a vibrant hibiscus or an antique yellow rose!

Check out Pantone's Fashion Color Guide to Spring:

White is also supposed to be making a big move this season with it statement of minimalism. I have always loved white for its crisp, clean and classic personality. You can never go wrong with an all white outfit!

These runway designs are stunning, but how do they translate over to regular life? Here are some affordable pieces you can get for your wardrobe in the yummy 2010 color pallette!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

An etched ice bucket filled with GOLD pine cones...we love anything with a touch of bling!

One of my very favorite Christmas decorations is this wreath that I got at Z Galleries a few years ago. It is faux fern absolutely covered in silver glitter! I included a close up for you!

Our entry way all decked out by my talented mom!

I collect shell boxes so I have lots of them...I think these baby brown ornaments look right at home on top of this very old box!

Our limestone mantel is covered in seashells and glass ornaments!

Tucking this sweet bottle brush tree under a bell jar makes it even more special!

I love the way my mom showcased silver laced pine cones, seashells & silver ornaments on top of my mercury glass cake stand!

These vintage lime green ornaments on some of my all-time favorites! Trust me...It's not easy to find this color...
This cute little tree sits on our table in our breakfast nook. It is covered in tiny old glass balls...oh they make me so happy just looking at them!

In my book, you can NEVER have too many jars filled with ornaments! I have lots more to post, BUT REALLY need to finish designing our Christmas cards...will share later this week...promise!

Tinsel Time Continued...

I promised (over a week ago!) some pictures of our Christmas decorating!

I love the contrast between the natural seashells & the shiny ornaments!

Mom made a mini winter wonderland on our dining room table!

The tinsel tree is right at home perched on mirror tables!
